Safer Recruitment

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Your suitability to work with children will form part of the selection process.  As part of this, we will apply for:

  • A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Evidence of your identity and right to work in the UK
  • A children's barred list check
  • Two satisfactory references (required prior to interview)
  • Pre-employment health screening
  • Evidence of all qualifications relevant to the role

For teachers, additional checks include;

  • a Prohibition Check in relation to the children's workforce
  • Evidence of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

For some posts we may also require declarations in order to meet our obligations under the 'Disqualification under the Childcare Act 2006'
