We live in a world where rush, push, drive and varying levels of anxiety are our everyday normal. Our senses are bombarded continually by media, noise and the busyness of everyday life. With incessant thoughts of "what is next?" we can find it challenging to settle and simply attend to what's needed in the present moment.
We invited families into school to join their children, listen to calming music, settle and enjoy a 'stop' moment in the present. In the hall, we laid out long strips of wallpaper and different media – paints, pens, pencils - for everyone to make a wonderful artwork with their children.
Using the senses of hearing, feeling and touch, they drew, painted and chalked abstract marks and doodles by moving hands and body to the rhythm of the music.
So many of you came, thank you! We hope you had a wonderful, creative and mindful time!
